Playboi Carti is an artist with a dedicated fanbase who will go to great lengths to listen to his music.
Although he has been quite secretive about his releases in the past, his new album, Music, is set to drop this year and has been heavily marketed. Five new singles were released since last December, but none of them are currently available on streaming platforms, which has frustrated fans.
However, Carti recently announced a new single called “Ketamine,” which was released on his Opium Instagram account at 9:30 PM EST. The music video for the song features a guitarist and punk references.
While the song's production does a great job of building tension and hype, Carti's new deep-toned flow is the only notable feature in the short track. Nonetheless, it is a solid effort, and it's refreshing to see Carti rereleasing music. Fans are hoping that this will lead to an album announcement soon.

About Playboi Carti
Jordan Terrell Carter, who goes by the professional name Playboi Carti, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from America.
He is considered an influential figure among his generation, and has contributed to the progression of rage and trap music. In 2014, he signed with the local underground record label Awful Records, and two years later, he signed with ASAP Mob's record label AWGE, in a joint venture with Interscope Records.
His eponymous debut mixtape, released in 2017, gained him mainstream attention and peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard 200. It spawned the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles “Magnolia” and “Wokeuplikethis” (featuring Lil Uzi Vert).
Carter's debut studio album, Die Lit (2018), reached further success on the Billboard 200, peaking at number three. Following a two-year hiatus, his second studio album, Whole Lotta Red (2020), debuted atop the chart and received critical acclaim. It was listed as one of the greatest albums of that year by Rolling Stone and The Washington Post. Carter is set to release his third studio album in 2024.
Aside from his solo career, Carter founded the record label and creative agency Opium in 2019. He has signed aesthetically-similar fellow Georgia-based rappers Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely, as well as the group Homixide Gang.
Musically, the label shares a similar sound characterized by dark, gritty production and avant-garde synths, reminiscent of the 1970s and 80s punk rock era. Due to this distinction, both Carter and his label have garnered a cult following.
