Although Bryson Tiller has not released much music this year, he is starting to get back into the swing of things.
On Friday night, the Kentucky singer-rapper announced on social media that he would release a mixtape called SLUM TILLER VOL. 1 during a Twitch session. Later that night, he dropped the 5-song project on Soundcloud, a rare move in today's streaming climate. The mixtape includes tracks such as ‘NUMB,' ‘Coy,' ‘Big Spender,' ‘Stay Gold,' and ‘Resolution,' which can be streamed on Soundcloud. This is a refreshing change.
Bryson Tiller's reputation in the music industry fluctuates due to his infrequent releases. However, his new mixtape, SLUM TILLER VOL. 1, is a high-quality, concise five-song project that he announced via a Twitch stream.
The 30-year-old talent delivers on every track here. It has vibes similar to T R A P S O U L, which is what got him the co-sign from Drake. “NUMB,” “Coy,” “Big Spender,” “Stay Gold,” and “Resolution” are the track names and all of them have a unique sound which is another welcome sign. This could be the start of the return of 2015 Bryson and we are hoping for that and then some.

Bryson Djuan Tiller is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper from Louisville, Kentucky. He released his debut mixtape, Killer Instinct Vol. 1 2011. In November 2020, Tiller mentioned that he had discussed a joint project with Jack Harlow, but it is unlikely to happen. However, we can still look forward to new music from Tiller this year.
